My entire eight-month adventure was inspired by Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat, in Southern Bolivia. Now, it has officially been checked off my bucket list!
I did a three-day jeep tour from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile to Uyuni, Bolivia with a group of awesome friends I met during my travels. We woke up at 4 a.m. to reach the flats by sunrise. I will never forget the moment the jeep drove onto the salt flats – an endless sea of white stretched out to greet the pink horizon. I was living my daydreams.
Who knew there was a random island of cacti in the middle of the salt flats?
There are various lagoons en route to the salt flats filled with flamingos. I decided I love flamingos and felt the need to take 20,000 photos of them, which is why editing took forever. Who knew they liked cold weather?
Nope, these aren’t llamas but a close relative – the vicuña.
