Safety Wing travel medical insurance was built by and for digital nomads. Their Nomad Insurance policies can be purchased abroad, cover short home country visits and are for both short and long trips. The Remote Health program is designed for remote workers and nomads who want long-term coverage available in 175 countries!

Nuun hydration makes my favorite healthy electrolyte tablets for traveling and hiking. Nuun sport is my favorite and only has 1 gram of sugar! All products are plant based and gluten free. I take two tubes on every trip. I’m a Nunn Ambassador and love this company!

Cybersecurity: VPNs & e-SIM cards for Travel

NordVPN offers privacy protection while traveling both at home and abroad. I’ve been using it for years because it’s the fastest and most trusted VPN. It’s excellent for streaming movies or checking our bank accounts. It shields your IP address to protect your privacy and location while also offering secure data encryption.

Airalo is the first and largest eSIM store worldwide featuring eSIM plans for 200+ countries and regions. These plans are a fraction of the cost of internatoinal phone plan in your home country and help you avoid expensive roaming chargest. Simply buy a plan through the app and be connected instantly.

Flights, Hotels & Rental Cars

Scott’s Cheap Flights is a FREE email list that sends you flight deal alerts based on airports you select. Most deals are 40-90% off regular prices on quality airlines. Routes are nonstop or one connection flights with short layovers!

Expedia is where I find best rental car prices. The site also has great hotel and flight deals. Sign up for their One Key rewards to earn points across their brands (Hotels.com and VRBO) as well as member only discounts!

Skyscanner is the best place for flight deals because it includes budget airlines often excluded from search engines. You can search by the whole month or the cheapest month.  It’s also great for hotels and rental car deals.

Kayak’s flight search engine has a filter for no change fees! The site is a one-stop shop for flights, hotels, packages and even trains! They’ve recently added a Things To Do section with location guide information for tours and day trips!

Budget Accomodation

Booking.com is my favorite site for booking hotels, hostels and apartments because of their flexible cancelation and price matching policies. Their Genius Loyalty and rewards programs also help save you money!

Hotels.com is great for discount hotel bookings and often cheaper than other sites. For every 10 nights you book at Hotels.com, you get a free night! Their price matching and flexible cancelation policy are excellent.

Hostelworld is a great option for booking both private and dorm style rooms across the globe. The 13 million reviews are very helpful for choosing the best place. Booking is instant, and there are no fees.

Couchsurfing is great for tight budgets because people let you crash on their couch for free. Reviews are the heart of this experience. It’s also a great social network for activities and events even if you don’t couchsurf.

Camera Gear & Laptop Acessories

Peak Design makes my favorite camera strap and lightweight travel tripod along with quality camera bags and accessories. The brand was started by a traveler, funded through Kickstarter and has a lifetime warranty.

LensRentals is my go-to place for renting camera gear (photo & video) for both work and traveling. (It’s great for trying a camera before buying!) Their staff is very helpful, and the gear is top quality. They only ship to U.S. addresses.

The Roost laptop stand is the greatest thing I’ve discovered this year. It’s sturdy and folds up compactly for travel. It’s also affordable and made in America! It’s helped my shoulder/neck strain from poor posture while working on my laptop.

Travel Clothing & Gear

REI has everything you need for traveling and all outdoor activities. Their one year return policy is the BEST. Even if you’ve worn it a few times and don’t like it, they’ll give you a refund. They also have Used Gear program, which is full of great deals!

PrAna makes my favorite hiking pants (the Halle pant). They focus on outdoor and yoga clothing for both women and men. Their sustainability practices and commitment to reducing plastic packaging are incredible.

Patagonia makes my favorite thermals and workout clothes. Their lifetime warranty is fantastic — they will fix or replace gear at no cost. They also recycle old clothing. I fully support their commitment to protect the environment.

Swiftwick makes wicking and compression socks that are great for exercising and traveling. The Aspire Zero ankle socks are my favorite because they are so breathable and have firm support. I travel with about seven pairs.  Try them out!

I’ve used Osprey backpacks since 2008 for traveling and hiking. I have two main packs — one for daily use for my camera gear and another for hiking. They have my loyalty for life due to their lifetime warranty and excellent customer service.

Marmot is my go-to for rain gear! I have two raincoats – the PreCip jacket and Knife Edge (Gortex) and their rain pants.  The zippered underarm vents are another great feature. Their warranty is also excellent.

Discount Attractions, Tours & Cash Back

Klook is a website that sells discount attraction tickets, tours, airport transfers and accommodation. I’ve used KLOOK across the world from Vietnam to New Zealand.  They even include SIM cards options in their airport transfers, which makes my life so much easier.

Rakuten is a website and browser plug-in that offers cash back when you shop at over 2,500 websites from stores to hotels! Every three months your cash back is deposited to your PayPal. Sign up below to get $25 for joining and spending $25 using one of their links!

Working Abroad

WorkAway is a work exchange website that offers a variety of options including positions in schools, cafes, hostels and farms. Membership costs $44 USD  per year per person and $56 for couples.

HelpX is a work exchange program with positions at hostels, ranches and many other options. It’s free to sign up but costs 20 Euros for the two-year premier membership.

WWOOF specializes with opportunities on organic farms across the world.  Hosts offer food, accommodation and learning opportunities in exchange for roughly 4-6 hours/day of work.
